Jawbone PRIME Bluetooth Headset (Blah Blah Black) Review

Jawbone PRIME Bluetooth Headset (Blah Blah Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is now my 3rd Jawbone and they finally got this thing perfected. I am on a cellphone and in and out of my car most of the day. I have REAL experience with every model.
JAWBONE-1 was the best sounding to everyone I talked to which is what I was concerned with. It was way too heavy and awkward to use. Frankly, it looked clunky. The ear fit caused more "fits" than anything else, utterly frustrating.
JAWBONE-2 was a big improvement in weight comfort but STILL would not fit right for most everyone. The earloops where prone to break because you would constantly be "adjusting" it. Many times it would just fall out and hang on your ear. This caused the "jawbone" sensor to not make contact with your skin rendering this device basically worse than any other bluetooth headset. The volume was NEVER quite enough and the touch controls were so "touchy" you would almost always cut off your own call.
JAWBONE-PRIME - Great example of a company listening to the users. NO Earhook Required, REALLY! They took the approach of the Plantronics Discovery ear gel, and it will fit ANYONE'S EAR!!. At first you almost can't believe it will stay in without a hook but it absolutely does.
YOU CAN ADD THE EAR LOOP AND IT'S STILL COMFORTABLE, but, in reality, not needed except maybe for a confidence factor. If you're in a really rough environment on a job site then maybe the hook would add this.
It is SO light I suppose it could fall out of your ear and you might not notice that it feel out. The hook may help in that scenario.
Looks SO MUCH BETTER when on. - At least people don't look at you like you have an big cockroach hanging out of your ear like so many other headphones. If you like color, (mine's business black) this is a cool alternative for the right person.
Volume is awesome! Finally a headset that actually needs to be turned down. Can you imagine this? It's true.
Jawbone sensor NEVER CREEPS AWAY from my face. Once you simply turn the ear gel to your fit, it almost leverages itself against your skin to complete the fit.
I finally can put this in my pocket without fear of breaking it. Or, I place it in a tiny little belt holster I bought at Best Buy when not in use. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM SOLVED. I have lost 2 Jawbones already because I left it somewhere when I took it out of my ear.
I hope this review helps someone. I always wonder if anyone actually reads these reviews so let me know if it did.

Battery Charger for Dell Inspiron 1000 2200 B130 Laptop Review

Battery Charger for Dell Inspiron 1000 2200 B130 Laptop

This power cord works great! I purchased my Dell Inspiron B130 laptop in 2005-2006 and the wires in the original power cord must have become broken over time so I needed a replacement. This new cord and its power supply works wonderfully and I don't need to worry about completing the circuit by holding the old cord in place anymore just to keep from losing incoming charging power. This purchase eliminated a lot of frustration. Highly reccomended.

SanDisk Sansa e250 2 GB MP3 Player with microSD Expansion Slot (Black) Review

SanDisk Sansa e250 2 GB MP3 Player with microSD Expansion Slot (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Since I have most of my music files ripped in WMA format, I've been looking for a flash MP3 player to compete with the IPOD Nano. After much research, I decided to take a chance on this newly released player.
I'm very impressed to start. The player is small (just a bit thicker than the Nano), and fairly light. The screen shows excellent color- based on the menus. I'm not planning to use it much for video or photos, so I'm not very concerned with the screen size, which is expectedly small. The player in general is very easy to use. I looked over the quick reference guide and didn't even bother with the user guide (user guide is in PDF format on the cd-rom.) The overall appearance is excellent.
You can load music by dragging and dropping, or using Windows Media Player 10. I prefer to use WMP10 to sync, since I have my music organized well. Syncing in this manner was very simple. I didn't encounter any issues with the first two syncs I've performed. If you have your id3 tags correct, the Sansa will display your music by Artist, Album, Songs, or Genere. There's also a "To Go playlist". The Sansa sorted my music just fine. The display is informative when playing music. The sound so far is excellent. I've used a few different headsets to test it and have no complaints.
The center dial/wheel rotates and glows in a bright blue. It allows you to scroll through menu items and to increase/decrease the volume. The directional buttons around the wheel are a little difficult to use with only one hand. Because the center dial is raised so much, you end up needing to use the tips of your fingers to press the buttons that surround it. I suppose it will take a little getting used to- but it's not a dealbreaker for me.
Following the precedent set by other companies. The USB connector is of course proprietary. This is currently the only way to charge the Sansa, so don't lose it. I don't see any wall/travel charges offered yet- even at the Sandisk Website. Since it's new- there aren't really any accessories offered. This isn't a concern to me personally- so I bought it anyway. I definitely would like a separate charging apparatus, rather than having to charge via USB- so I hope Sandisk offers such an item, sooner rather than later.
It comes with a small velvet pouch. I'll be searching for some sort of "skin" to protect the player, instead of relying on the pouch. It's just not efficient if you want to protect and use the player at the same time.
Pros:
It looks beautiful.
Plays WMA Files.
Easy to sync.
Drag & Drop available.
Sounds great.
Flash memory- so no need to wory about hard drive skipping.
2GB of memory with models that go up to 6GB.
Expansion slot for miniSD cards for more memory.
Lots of features: Music, Video, Pics, FM, Voice Recording, etc.
Price - $159.
Cons:
Buttons can be hard to use.
Charging via USB only (at this time.)
Not many accessories offered (yet.)
Doesn't support many file types.
Again, please understand when reading this, that my primary use is for music. All the other features are merely a bonus for me. So if you're looking for something to use regularly to play video, pics, etc- please do your homework to see if the player is a good fit for your needs. Most of the time when I read negative reviews, it's because the reviewer bought something that did not fit their needs. Companies are in business to sell their products- do your own research to determine if the product is right for you.

After seeing a full page advertisement in an in-flight magazine for this product, I thought I would give it a try.
I'm a bit disappointed in it due to the fact that when I remove my iPhone from the charger, my iPhone has a warning which comes on the screen saying something like "this accessory is not supported", even though all of the write-ups on the charger and all of the point-of-purchase info on the box says it works with the iPhone. If I use my USB cable with my computer, my phone charges just fine.
My phone will never get a full charge.......always a section or 2 missing from a full-charge indication on my phone display.
I really didn't need a $20.00 LED nite-light...........

Woodees IESW100B Inner-ear Stereo Earphone with Microphone Review

Woodees IESW100B Inner-ear Stereo Earphone with Microphone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I own a number of higher end IEs and cans and have to admit this product (so far) is something I would consider a good value. I bought these because I was looking for a decent sound from an IE with a mic that I could keep in the car and use with my BB while running afternoon errands and such. Believe it or not, that was not an easy task. Most of your higher-end or even audiophile grade IEs do not have a mic. I happen to own both the UE Superfi.5 Pro and the Triplefi.10, but I will not compare these to those as they so cost considerably more and such a comparison will not be fair. The Triple.10 does have a version with a mic, but I was not willing to spend that kind cash on a second pair just for the mic and I would not want to keep such a high-end product in the car. I will keep this review limited to this product. Note: Although this product has four sizes of ear cushions in which to choose, I always use the Comply cushions with my IE because of their comfort and seal.
Good: The wood is a great looking detail that is attention grabbing if nothing else. These are full range 20-20 and the frequency response is very well balanced with all types of music (if you are a bass head, buy IEs with extended bass as these are not for you). They do a great job of blocking outside noise (see note above). At 105db and 16 ohms, they are plenty loud and do not require a lot of power. Others can typically run at 85db and 32 ohms and need more power to make them `shine.' Price wise; these are not particularly expensive, which makes them a good value. As some of you know, you can spend over $1,000 for a set of IEs.
Bad: The diameter of the earpiece is a little larger than others, which may cause discomfort for some users. Mids and highs along with vocals can sound a bit harsh at a higher volume level, but this will vary by source. At low to mid volume levels, music is very clean, balanced and dynamic.

BlueAnt Z9i Bluetooth Headset (Black) Review

BlueAnt Z9i Bluetooth Headset (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have used and reviewed the Blueant Z9 which I really liked. However, now I am giving my opinion on this new upgraded version which is the Blueant Z9i.
Both versions are extremely lightweight and small. This makes them very comfortable, feels secure and does not flop around. The sound is loud enough that you do not have to increase the volume. The voice quality is clear and consistent. However, the new Z9i seems to have slightly better sound quality. I have the Z9i paired with the 3G iPhone.
There are three buttons. The function button handles most features. There are two volume buttons for up and down. The volume buttons also have functions such as holding down the volume up button for three seconds actives the redial feature. This may sound confusing, but it really is not. You just need to read the instructions. The buttons are easy to press with little resistance.
Compared to the Jawbone, which I used for a while, the Blueant Z9i is far superior in noise cancellation. When set to maximum the voice quality is clear and does not breakup on the Blueant. The noise cancellation defaults at minimum. In noisy environments, simply hold the function button for 1 second. A voice tells you that it is set to maximum noise cancellation. That is really a cool feature because you do not have to figure out what the beeps mean.
The range is as advertised. Of course, range and a clear connection is dependent on the brand and model of your cell phone.
Helpful hint: To get the best sound qualities, speak in a normal voice, not too loud. In addition, update the firmware to the latest version when they become available.
What is new and improved on the Z9i.
Pairs with 5 devices instead of 3.
Connects with 2 phones instead of 1.
Includes 1 small and 1 large ear bud instead of 1.
Includes 1 translucent and 1 rubberized ear hook instead of 1 translucent.
Choice of 2 colors in red or black instead of just black.
Improved noise cancellation software.
So, if you think these differences and upgrades are worth it, then give it a try. I did and I am glad that I went with the new Z9i.

Improving on the original Z9, the enhanced BlueAnt Z9i Bluetooth headset incorporates a number of new features and packaged accessories with a focus on comfort and wearability. BlueAnt has refined its Voice Isolation Technology software to improve the Z9i's noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction capabilities.
The Z9i includes both large and small interchangeable ear gels, as well as two types of ear hook: the original translucent style and a more ergonomic, rubberized metal ear hook. It also offers an innovative tie clip lets you attach the V1 headset to your shirt or cuff when not in use.
The Z9i incorporates dual microphones allowing for BlueAnt's patented Voice Isolation Technology, a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) software solution that uses advanced techniques to separate the user's voice signal from all other sounds, enhancing and isolating all frequencies that affect voices coming into and out of the headset. This results in outstanding environmental noise reduction, echo cancellation and wind noise protection. You can choose between dual Voice Isolation modes: Standard for use in normal environments to remove mild background noise, and Max, which provides superior voice clarity for use in extremely noisy environments.
The BlueAnt Z9i works with Bluetooth version 2.0 and its multi-point technology allows you to connect simultaneously to two phones and answer the one that rings. The Z9i can now connect with up to five Bluetooth devices (instead of the Z9's three). Automatic reconnect also finds the last cell phone or device paired, and automatically reconnects.
Features
Two microphones for pure speech
Multipoint technology allows connection to two phones simultaneously
Automatic connection and reconnection with notification
Different ring-tones for known and unknown contacts
Innovative tie clip for attaching to shirt or cuff, when not in use
Choice between a stylish, translucent or ergonomic, rubberized metal ear hook
Firmware upgrade via USB on your PC

Lexmark 82 Ink Cartridge - Black (18L0032)

This is the black cartridge to use if you own a number of Lexmark printers. I use it in my X6150. I am very happy with the print quality with the black as well as the color (18L0042). You really must just get the cartridge out of the printer to figure out the part number though, I haven't found anything anywhere that links my printer to this cartridge.
The price is in line with other print cartridges, it is easy to get in and out and you don't make a mess with it. You should be able to get 600 pages out of one cartridge, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm doubtful I'll get that many but I print a lot of photos.
Overall, a good product.

Sony SS-CN5000 Dual 5.25" Center Channel Speaker (each, black) Review

Sony SS-CN5000 Dual 5.25 Center Channel Speaker (each, black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
TV: Panasonic 58pz800u
AVR: Onkyo SR-605
Bluray: Oppo BDP-83
Sat: Dish Network ViP 211
Fronts: Sony SS-F7000
Center: Sony SS-CN5000
Surrounds: Sony SS-B1000
Subwoofer: Onkyo SKW-530
I've been using this center for the past 6 weeks now and let me say first that this center looks simple, clean, and doesn't attract very much attention. It's size is noticeable, however. It's a pretty big Center, and weighs like about 15 lbs.
BUILD
It's a nice looking fake black wood enclosure. It has some heft, heavier than most centers I'd think. It's made of MDF inside and has some foam in certain patches in certain areas. The front screen is easily removeable revealing the composite woofers, tweeter and front port. Has spring clips for the speaker wire. Overall, very good build for this price.
MATERIALS:
The tweeter is a 1" Nano Dome, good solid choice for a tweeter.
The Mid Range Woofers are slightly less than 5 inches and made of HOP. This type of material is stiffer then regular polypropylene.
Overall, the materials used is really good considering the price of the center. 10 years ago this stuff was high tech in speaker construction, esp in car speakers which run on 4ohm usually. With the prices of these materials coming down, Sony is able to use them and give us a lot of great sound and tech for not a lot of money.
SOUND:
I primarily use my system for Satellite and movies. I don't listen to too much music, but when I do it's a CD and through my Oppo. So since this center most typically will be the most used speaker of all. It will be in charge of voices, action, some background music and other directional effects. It handles all these with EASE. It is extremely accurate sounding. Audessy shows that the center is FULL RANGE and lets all bass frequencies go to the center on the center channel. This gives insane dynamic range, from deep exhaust notes and voices to high bells and screams from movies.
For music the center sounds crystal clear on everything from symbol to sax to bass guitar to electric guitar, etc. Very good, solid music reproduction. Doesn't have any punch in the lows, but, it's a center channel, it's not supposed to. Most center channel information won't ever go lower than a deep vocal.
I can definitely understand why this center is sitting pretty at #1 in the Center Speaker section for some time now. I would not have tried this Sony setup if it weren't for other reviews. For the price (I paid $83 shipped), this is a really good center speaker. The only thing about it is it's too accurate at times, and can be slightly lower in volume during whispers or low passages due to it's crazy dynamic range. Anyone with an AVR that has Dolby Volume Plus or Audessey Dynamic Volume won't know it though.

I had my doubts about how this product would actually work and if it would allow me to charge my Iphone3GS because Apple has made its phone series very picky about chargers. I can safely say that this product charges WITHOUT forcing the popup about being a non-standard charger. The unit itself its quite small and I have it attached to the windshield of my car with the included suction cups. I'm using it to charge up my phone while running the Navigation and Traffic Apps (which really drain the phone). Overall I would rate it 5 stars and I'm considering purchasing another for additional devices that I could carry with me on trips.

Memorex 700MB/80-Minute 52x CD-R Media (100-Pack Spindle) Review

Memorex 700MB/80-Minute 52x CD-R Media (100-Pack Spindle)
Average Reviews:

Before I start, I would like to remind people that compatability problems still exist with CDRW burners. Some media brands will just work better on certain hardware/burners. On reviews like these, it's best to state your burner as well so readers will have an idea of what media matches best with what hardware/burner. I would also like to remind people that compatability problems exists between CDRs and late model CD players - wether on a boombox or on your car's player.
Ok now onto my review... I have a LiteOn CDRW 40x burner (on my old PC), Teac DVD+/CDRW combo burner and an LG-Hitachi 48x CDRW burner. Memorex media works flawlessly on all these burners! Music CDs that I made plays perfectly on all my components - 5-disc Sony caroussel from the early 90s, my DVD player from 2000 and the rest of my CD players in the house and not to mention my car's CD player. No problems at all.
The only problem I encountered was when I made VCDs using these disc. They "sometimes" wouldn't work on my Panasonic DVD/VCD player (year 2000). They would give me playback problems such as pixelation and audio skipping! But when using another brand, such as TDK or Fuji, I don't get these playback problems. The Memorex VCD would work on my dirt-cheat Apex though. Further, establishing the idea that media do have compatability problems.
Considering my hardware, the brands that gave me no problems at all were: TDK, Fuji and Maxell - they just work flawlessly on whatever I throw at them. I would put the Memorex up there with the other brands but they seem to be only good when it comes to music and data but now much on video projects. But since most people use their CDRs for music and data anyway, these CDRs are still a great buy in my opinion! I currently have TDKs and Memorexs.

A couple of notes from the box:
- "The optional lab analysis requires sending the petri dish to Pro-Lab for a detailed report. ($30 lab fee required.)"
- "A minimum of two test kits are recommended for air sampling to compare indoor to outdoor air quality. ... If the results of the samples indicate that the amount of mold growth indoors is significantly greater than the mold growth outdoors, you may have a mold problem. One mold test kit is needed for each indoor area of concern."

iLuv Flex-Gel Case for iPad 2nd Gen (iCC818PNK) Review

iLuv Flex-Gel Case for iPad 2nd Gen (iCC818PNK)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Just in case anyone is wondering, this item isn't really a gel case (like a soft rubber or silicone) but rather a harder plastic case. The term "Flex-Gel" is really misleading. It's a bit stiffer than a TPU case and doesn't have the glossy softer plastic feel of TPU. It's more along the lines of a matte hard plastic (yet still flexible) that won't end up being a grease/fingerprint magnet (definitely a good thing).
While it's definitely different than what I was thinking it was going to be, it ended up being great because it has a really nice feel to it and is actually more of what I wanted. I bought this because it was one of the only iPad 2 cases available and figured I'd probably end up replacing it eventually with something different--won't have to now because this is really nice.
The only downside (and reason it didn't get 5 stars) is that it has a very sharp edge/seam running around the perimeter (at least mine did) so it wasn't very comfortable to hold--it felt sharp. But a minute or two with some very light grit sandpaper took that edge off and now it's smooth. Didn't mar it up at all either and is now exactly the way I want it.

Musical Fidelity V-DAC Upsampling Digital to Analog Audio Converter Review

Musical Fidelity V-DAC Upsampling Digital to Analog Audio Converter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I upgraded my current audio setup. I purchased the V-DAC 2 weeks ago. After about 60 hrs burn-in, I have truly never experienced music on this level. Soundstage, articulation, tight bass, warm acoustics that will melt away everything that has troubled you the moment you sit down and start listening. I have never heard an audio system sound this good. I have a decent upper mid-level audio setup. The years have caught up to it, but after running all of my sources through the V-DAC, my setup now sounds like twenty grand.
This is the smartest and most rewarding purchase I have bought in a longggg time and the most amazing audio purchase I have EVER purchased. When I come home now, the first thing I do is listen to music. No, not just listen, experience it! I'm going through my entire collection. Revisiting songs I never thought much of, but now hearing new sounds, new layers of audio. It's really hard to put into words, but I guarantee that the MF VDAC won't disappoint.
My fiancee thinks I'm silly and doesn't understand my new fascination with my music collection...but I'm loving every minute of it!
**Please note that you MUST burn in the VDAC (run music through it continutally) for AT LEAST 30 hrs. Out of the box, it sounds fine. After feeding it some sound for over 30 hrs though, you will be rewarded with a warm articulated soundstage that doesn't come from any product you can buy over the shelf. Trust me...the VDAC literally transforms into a DAC that will cause you to sit at the edge of your seat and wonder, "So this is the sound that causes the audiophile bug!". Just so you know, I've had this Amazon account for many years and rarely review or comment on products. I thought it would be beneficial to help those of you who are beginning to upgrade your audio setups with quality components. The VDAC should be on your list...actually, it's a must if you need to upgrade to an external DAC!
My old and new music collection has been reborn...I'm loving every moment of it :)

The V-DAC is a sensational state-of-the-art DAC. By any measurement its performance is way beyond so-called state-of-the-art competition. In fact overall the technical performance of the V-DAC is probably about the best in the world regardless of price. There is no trickery here. It's simply that we use state-of-the-art digital components (these are very expensive) and implement them with state-of-the-art circuitry and layout. The secret is simple; there's no ridiculous packaging, and absolutely no wastage on anything. The V-DAC is rather like an F1 racing car. It is completely funcitonal with no excess flab or wastage anywhere.

URC MasterControl RF20 Universal Learning Remote w/ RF Capability Review

URC MasterControl RF20 Universal Learning Remote w/ RF Capability
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Wow! What an impressive universal remote (but with flaws)! Most of the buttons can 'learn' from a device's remote, or can be programmed with 'macros' (a series of button presses). For example, my DirecTV/TiVo remote has no 'OFF' button (but there's one on the box), so I programmed the universal remote's 'OFF' button for this. My Samsung HDTV has a complicated ZOOM procedure, and a complicated source selection procedure, so I simplified them for my needs. Practically all of the buttons on a device's remote can be duplicated on this remote. With cheaper 'universal' remotes, the most useful functions of a device's remote are there, but for other functions I need to keep the original remote around, so why bother. Now with this one, I can put the old individual remotes away.
But then there's the bug. One of the 'features' of this remote is 'erasing commands'. Why would you need this? Well, perhaps you decided to rearrange your screen buttons, and you didn't need one any more, so you cleared the label and deleted the command (key or macro). And here's the bug: the 'learning' method for programming buttons DOES NOT WORK, if a macro has previously been stored to the button. One would expect that any old command on a button would automatically be erased when a new command (key or macro) is saved, but that is not the case. The work-around for the bug is that you must manually erase the command first. So this is clearly what the 'erasing commands' feature is for. But that reason is not documented in the manual, and neither is the bug itself.
In fact, another problem with this remote is the manual. It appears glib and superficial. It leaves out some important details. One of the most powerful features of this remote is the macro capability, but the manual explains this only through one example, for the ON button on the MAIN page. It does not give any general step-by-step procedure for setting up a macro command on a button for an individual component. Most users will eventually be able to figure this out, but the manual should have more detail. In fact, what is missing from the manual is a chapter on how to set up macros for users who are serious about using this powerful capability. Also important is button layout, which is a design issue. For the screen buttons, for example, the most frequently used commands should be on buttons that are closer to the center of the remote -- that is, lower on the screen, whereas less frequently used or more destructive commands (such as RECORD or CLEAR COUNTER, for example) should be further away -- higher on the screen.
You should also be aware of the large amount of time that it can take to set up the remote as you might like it to be. The Pre-Programmed Code Method of setup is fast, but usually doesn't set up all of the buttons that are on the original remote. The Learning Method is also fast, once you have designed the button layout you want. You may, for example, set up the OFF button to actually do RECORD, since the ON button does the ON/OFF function for a component (this is the layout taken by one of the pre-programmed codes for a VCR). But doing the design of the button layout, and particularly learning how the various setup features work, then setting up macros, then changing things when you see how you can improve your layout -- these things can take a really long time. And the manual does not give you any help with some of these issues. And then of course you may want to document some of your layout, especially if the OFF button invokes RECORD, for example.
Yet another little 'bug' is in the manual's macro example. If the ON button is programmed in this way, then the ON buttons for the individual components no longer work as you might expect. That is, you may wish to play a CD and so you just want to turn on the audio amplifier (and the CD player). But now the AUDIO ON button invokes the MAIN ON button, so everything comes on instead. The manual doesn't warn you of these problems.
For the remote itself and its capabilities, I would probably grade it a 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 5. But because of the bug and the manual, it is tempting to grade it as a 1. So the compromise is 3.
