(More customer reviews)I just used this on my rebuild of a 4cyl Toyota 22RE. It was my first time doing it and I had all 8 springs removed in under 30 minutes. The tool never slipped off. I just kept one hand wrapped around the outer black tongs to make sure it didn't, but I probably didn't need to. It did say it came with instructions, but it did not. Luckily, it's pretty straight forward how to use it. Note: I didn't quite use this for it's intended purpose of having the head still on the block (I removed the head due to a blown head gasket), but it would work exactly the same with the head still mounted in combination with an air hose in the spark plug hole to keep the valves from disappearing....

Remove valve springs on most cars with overhead valves without removing the cylinder head. Offset jaws grip the valve spring in parallel compression. Tool maintains constant length as spring is compressed. Use with 901 or 2992 Air Hold Fittings to keep valve in place. Caution: wear eye protection. Vehicle must be placed in park/neutral before applying air pressure, otherwise vehicle may move.
