(More customer reviews)I specifically purchased this product to use my iPod in my car, so this review will be 99% slanted toward that use (or lack thereof - read on). One item of note: Unfortunately for me, I didn't purchase this item at Amazon, or I would have promptly returned it for another product. However, since it is impossible to leave feedback to the vendor either on their website or during product registration, and since I was cut off from their support line after waiting on hold for 10 minutes, I thought it would be best for the potential Amazon purchasers to post my thoughts here.
In a nutshell, my main question is this: Have any Jensen engineers actually used an iPod before? OK, maybe that's not fair...let me restate: Have they ever used an iPod with more than 10 songs on it? Controlling an iPod from the MPX6411 with the jPort adapter is a nightmare. It basically emulates a CD changer, albeit a very dumb one that only lists 10 disks and 10 songs. With no text. So, if you have more than 10 albums on your iPod it will be virtually impossible to know what is playing short of switching to a disk and seeing what comes up. Unless you have a photographic memory (unlike me), you will be hard pressed to know what will come up when Disk 5 and Track 7 is selected. Further, once you pass Disk 10 or Track 10, the display wraps back around to 0. The most frustating part of this is that the display actually holds three digits! So, it is actually wrapping from 010 back to 000. Imagine how this works (or doesn't!) when you have 270+ CDs on your iPod as I do.
I would STRONLY advise anyone looking to use an iPod to stay away from Jensen car audio products. That is, unless you only have 10 CDs ripped with 10 or fewer songs on each.
